Malang Mayor Invites to Increase Awareness

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government's (Pemkot) Ramadan Safari, which entered its fifth implementation, was held at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque, Jl. Tanjung Putra Yudha 4, Tanjungrejo Village, Sukun District, Monday night (10/3/2025). The Ramadan Safari led by Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat was attended by regional officials, residents, religious leaders and local community leaders.

On this occasion, aid was also handed over to orphans, the poor and mosque administrators. The distribution of this aid is a form of concern and proof of the government's presence in the midst of society.

After performing the tarawih prayer in congregation, the Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat, said that the Holy Month of Ramadan is the right moment to further strengthen Islamic brotherhood, increase social awareness, and also build a spirit of togetherness in realizing a more advanced and dignified Malang City.

"As regional leaders, we realize that the success of development cannot be achieved without the support and participation of all elements of society. Therefore, we invite you to participate in supporting various development programs that we have and will run, both in the fields of education, health, infrastructure and the people's economy," he invited.

With the synergy between the government and the community, the number one person in the Malang City Government hopes that Malang City can continue to develop and become a comfortable and prosperous city for all its citizens.

Furthermore, the Mayor of Malang explained about the vision of Malang City, namely 'Towards Malang Mbois and Berkelas. Mbois is an acronym for independent, cultured, optimistic, beautiful, prosperous, while Berkelas is an acronym for sustainable, collaborative, efficient, sustainable, adaptive, and synergistic.

"We are committed to implementing the vision through four main missions, five leading programs, and ten devotions. The programs we have planned will always side with the interests of the wider community, while maintaining local wisdom and religious values ​​as the moral foundation in every policy taken," explained Wahyu.

To achieve this goal, Wahyu emphasized that collaboration and synergy are the main keys, so that closer communication with the community must be established, including through activities such as this so that the aspirations and hopes of residents can be heard and realized in targeted policies.

"Therefore, we expect an active role from all the congregation of the Al-Ikhlas Tanjungrejo Mosque to jointly protect the environment, improve social welfare, and support government programs to create a better Malang City," he added.

Furthermore, the man who once served as the Regional Secretary of Malang Regency invited people to make the Holy Month of Ramadan a momentum to strengthen brotherhood, strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation, and foster a sense of caring for each other.
