Malang (malangkota.go.id) – In the moment of Ramadan and welcoming Lebaran 2025, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) presents a special promotional program entitled 'Ramadan Festive'. This program offers two types of attractive promos for its loyal customers, namely regular promos with discounts of up to 20% and flash sale with super cheap ticket prices.
Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Luqman Arif, when confirmed on Sunday (16/3/2025) said that this promo is KAI's effort to provide an opportunity for the public to enjoy traveling using train transportation at a more economical price, and optimize seat occupancy during the Lebaran return flow. "There are several trains from Malang Station that are getting promos during this Ramadan Festive, and can be used by the public for going home and returning for Lebaran," he said.
The trains departing from Malang Station that are getting promotions during the Ramadan Festive are the Gajayana train on the Malang – Gambir route, the Brawijaya train on the Malang – Gambir route, and the Ijen Ekspres train on the Malang – Ketapang route.
He explained that in this regular promo, KAI is providing a discount of up to 20% from the normal rate for ticket reservations on March 18-19, 2025. Valid for departures from March 21 to April 11, 2025 with a total of 38.000 seats prepared or adjusted to the number of seats available.
On promo flash sale only available through the Access by KAI application. Flash sale will take place on March 18, 2025 at 12.00-13.00 WIB with a limited number of tickets of 2.000 tickets which will be adjusted to availability.
“Promotional tickets flash sale This applies to travel during the period March 21 to April 11, 2025. For people who want to get a flash sale promo, take advantage of it immediately, because the quota is limited. The special price offered in flash sale "This is for Executive Class at Rp. 300.000, Business Class Rp. 200.000, and Economy Class Rp. 100.000," he explained.
Along with the increasing mobility of the community for Eid, KAI Daop 8 Surabaya recorded a high demand for train tickets at Malang Station. During the Eid Transportation period of 1446 Hijriah which lasted for 22 days, from March 21 to April 11, 2025, KAI Daop 8 Surabaya operated 13 long-distance trains every day departing from Malang Station. Consisting of 11 regular long-distance trains, 2 additional trains, with a total capacity of 6.614 seats every day.
For customer data getting on and off at Malang Station during the 2025 Eid Transportation period, 39.228 customers got on and 32.894 customers got off. Several long-distance trains departing at Malang Station that are favorites of customers are the Tawangalun train from Malang Kotalama to Ketapang, the Matarmaja train from Malang to Pasarsenen, the Jayabaya train from Malang to Pasar Senen, the Malabar train from Malang to Bandung, and the Brawijaya train from Malang to Gambir.
