Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – In collaboration with Bank Indonesia Malang, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Malang City, and one of the leading private banks, the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Malang City held a joint breaking of the fast and donation to 1.000 orphans and the poor entitled 'Gebyar Lailatulqadar' at the Grand Mercure Malang Mirama Hotel, Sunday evening (16/3/2025).
After symbolically handing over the assistance, Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat expressed his appreciation for this positive activity. According to him, in addition to increasing faith, synergy and harmony, this step is a form of Baznas' concern for others who need a helping hand.
"Baznas is one of the backbones of the government in social and empowerment programs, especially for the Malang City Government. So far, Baznas's role has been quite good, in collecting and distributing social funds in the form of zakat, infak and sedekah," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.
From the program of distributing aid by Baznas to people in need, he said it also helped boost the economy of the community, such as for small and micro business actors.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang also expressed appreciation for Baznas Malang City which has received ISO 9001:2015 certification from the certification body, namely the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
Regarding this, the Head of Baznas Malang City, Kasui Saiban said that this was a matter of pride. "Receiving this certificate is real evidence that Baznas Malang City implements transparency of Zakat, Infak and Sedekah (ZIS).
"In this context, the management that we are implementing is considered good, so that the community does not need to worry about channeling their ZIS to Baznas Malang City," he concluded. (say/yn)
