According to him, as an important element at the forefront, sub-districts not only provide public services but also become the driving force for community participation. "These five sub-districts deserve to be best practice, an example for other sub-districts. In its activation, it is certainly not easy because it requires great effort to embrace all levels of society," he explained.

In 2025, the Malang City Lomdeskel carries the theme 'Self-sufficient Village Towards East Java, the Gateway to the New Archipelago'. This competition is a constructive event in line with core values East Java Province, namely Initiative, Collaboration, and Innovation (IKI).

"How do we present urban village development that does not only focus on physical or visual aspects, but also non-physical aspects such as social community activities. Physical development can be maintained if social activities can also be well established, so that physical and non-physical synergy can be well established," he explained again.

He also said that this competition was a constructive event, as a material for evaluating the development of the sub-district by assessing the level of creativity, synergy, and innovation in realizing economic equality and eradicating poverty, especially through food self-sufficiency.

The Regional Secretary of Malang City also appealed to the five participating sub-districts to prepare themselves well in every stage of the competition. "Starting from administrative assessment, presentation, to field clarification, every assessment indicator must be met well in order to get optimal results," he said.

With this competition, it is expected that the sub-districts in Malang City will be more innovative, competitive, and able to create a comfortable and prosperous environment for their people. After the presentation stage to determine the three finalists, the field verification stage will be continued to determine the sub-district that emerges as the winner of the Malang City Level Lomdeskel 2025.
