Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat opened the Community Group Strengthening (Pokmas) activity in Supporting Development Programs in 11 Sub-districts throughout Sukun District which was held at the Sukun District Office Hall, Malang City, Tuesday (18/3/2025). The rapid implementation of this constructive program also received appreciation from the Mayor of Malang.
Wahyu said that this is a manifestation of the commitment of the Malang City Government (Pemkot) in involving all elements in society to bring progress towards a better direction. "Pokmas is an important element, the vanguard in realizing the success of the implementation of development programs," said Mayor Wahyu.
According to him, pokmas not only represent various elements of society, but also act as a bridge of harmony that unites aspirations and the spirit of togetherness for mutual progress. "With the support of solid pokmas, every program designed can be more targeted and provide real benefits to residents," added Wahyu.
Therefore, the number one person in the Malang City Government emphasized that synergy between the government and the community is the main key in realizing a more advanced Malang City. "In an effort to bring about significant change, I have formulated the concept of 'Towards Malang Mbois (independent, cultured, optimistic, beautiful, prosperous) and Berkelas (sustainable, collaborative, efficient, sustainable, adaptive, and synergistic). This concept is not just a slogan, but a policy direction that will be implemented in real terms through four main missions, five superior programs, and ten devotions as strategic steps to build a more progressive, competitive and innovative Malang City," explained the Mayor of Malang.
Wahyu further said, all of that is an effort to be able to run and realize the vision and mission that is presented. Of course, in this case, it really needs cooperation and collaboration from all components of society, including the community groups in Sukun District. "Therefore, I hope that the Sukun District Community Group can further strengthen its role as the main driver of society in supporting various development programs. Community groups are expected to be able to act as a catalyst that brings government policies closer to the real needs of the community in each sub-district," Wahyu hoped.
With a high spirit of collaboration, pokmas can be a connecting bridge that ensures that community aspirations are channeled properly and government programs run optimally. In addition, his party also encourages pokmas to continue to increase capacity and innovation in carrying out their duties. This includes managing community-based development programs, creatively solving local problems, and mobilizing existing resource potential.
No less important, Wahyu hopes that the pokmas can become agents of change that create sustainable solutions and are in accordance with the vision of 'Towards Malang Mbois and Berkelas'. "Let's realize Malang City as a city that is not only advanced in terms of infrastructure, but also builds social harmony, environmental sustainability, and economic welfare for all levels of society.
