Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) held a Plenary Meeting with the agenda of Submitting the Malang Mayor's Accountability Report (LKPj) for the 2024 fiscal year in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD, Thursday (20/3/2025). This plenary meeting was also a momentum to convey the results of the performance and achievements of the implementation of programs and activities according to the 2024 planning document.

Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat, when reading the 2024 LKPJ, said that the main substance of the LKPJ is the results of the implementation of government affairs that are the authority of the region, namely the implementation of programs and activities for each government affair, strategic policies of the regional head, and follow-up to recommendations from the DPRD in the previous year.

"The priority of regional development in 2024 is determined based on the direction of development policy in 2024 which in the Malang City Regional Development Plan (RPD) for 2024-2026 also takes into account the results of identifying problems and strategic issues for development in 2024," he added.

As an introduction to the 2024 fiscal year LKPj, the Mayor of Malang delivered it in three parts. First, regarding the regional macro conditions, then a summary of the 2024 fiscal year APBD, and third, the implementation of government affairs in accordance with the development priorities stated in the 2024 RKPD.

The macro conditions of Malang City in 2024, revealed by the Mayor of Malang, include the Human Development Index (HDI) which is measured based on three elements, namely health, education, and economy. In 2024, the HDI of Malang City was 84,68 or an increase of 0,68 from 2023 which was 84. Comparatively, the 2024 HDI figure is the second highest in East Java province.

For the poverty rate, it has been successfully reduced from 4,26 percent in 2023 to 3,91 percent in 2024. Comparatively, it is ranked second among other districts/cities in East Java. Meanwhile, the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) has been successfully reduced from 6,80 percent in 2023 to 6,10 percent in 2024. Comparatively, it is ranked third highest among other districts/cities in East Java.

Economic growth in 2024 shows a slowdown from 6,07 percent in 2023 to 5,41 percent in 2024. This is in line with the economic growth of East Java which is also slowing down. Comparatively, the economic growth of Malang City is in the fifth highest among other regencies/cities in East Java.

Next, per capita income, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) Based on Current Prices in 2024 amounted to IDR114.721,6000, higher than in 2023 which was IDR107.541,79000. Comparatively, it is ranked sixth highest among other districts/cities in East Java.

Meanwhile, income inequality (gini ratio) in 2023 was 0,41, while the data in 2024 was 0,42. This value is better when compared to East Java province and nationally. (say/yn)
