Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat broke his fast with the academic community of the Regional and City Planning (PWK) study program of the National Institute of Technology (ITN) Malang on Jalan Sigura-gura, Malang City, Friday (21/3/2025). The atmosphere was lively and friendly, considering that Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat is an alumnus of ITN.

In his speech, Wahyu expressed his pride in being part of the big family of ITN campus. He believes that ITN students are professional, innovative human resources, and play a major role in regional development. Contributions are one of the keys to success in answering various existing challenges.
Currently, it is mentioned that the challenges of development in Malang City are very complex. One of the main issues that is the focus of attention is the problem of waterlogging that still often occurs in several areas.
"This requires continuous joint efforts to find the right solution. We are not only encouraging the community to be more concerned about environmental cleanliness, considering that this is one of the main causes, but also trying to develop better infrastructure planning," he explained.
The number one person in the Malang City Government hopes that this approach can reduce the risk of waterlogging and create a more comfortable and safe city environment for all its citizens. "The role of ITN Malang students is very relevant in contributing creative and innovative ideas to help overcome this problem," said Wahyu.
"Therefore, I want to encourage ITN Malang students to continue to improve their competence and creativity in facing development challenges. Never hesitate to dream big and make a real contribution to society," he said motivatingly.
Students are agents of change who have extraordinary potential to create innovative, sustainable solutions. The spirit of learning and working hard will be the key to success in your journey as future leaders.
"I also hope that this spirit of togetherness will not only end in the iftar jama'i (breaking the fast together) activity, but can continue to be established in various other initiatives. With good synergy between students, campuses and the government, I am sure that we are able to bring about positive changes that bring great benefits to the people of Malang," concluded Wahyu.
