Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat together with Deputy Mayor of Malang Ali Muthohirin attended the Ramadan Dialogue and breaking the fast together with the Extended Family of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM) of Malang City at the PDM Office of Malang City, Jl. Jalan Gajayana no. 28 B Ketawanggede, Lowokwaru District, Saturday night (22/3/2025).
This activity was also attended by the Regional Secretary of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, Muhammadiyah leaders, and Muhammadiyah residents.
The Mayor of Malang said that Muhammadiyah has a big role and contribution so far for Malang City in various aspects. "Support from Muhammadiyah, as one of the Islamic organizations that has a strategic role in the social, educational, and religious fields, is certainly very much expected to jointly realize inclusive and sustainable development," he added.
Furthermore, the Mayor of Malang said that he hopes that Muhammadiyah can continue to play an active role in supporting development programs, especially in the fields of education, religion, health, and social welfare.
The number one person in the Malang City Government said that one important aspect in development is maintaining harmony and tolerance between religious communities. Muhammadiyah as an organization that upholds the values of Islam rahmatan lil'alamin.
"We also hope that Muhammadiyah will continue to be the vanguard in maintaining the unity and integrity of society. This momentum of breaking the fast is a medium in strengthening the cooperation and collaboration between the Malang City Government and PDM Malang City," explained Wahyu.
In addition, according to him, this month of Ramadan should also inspire people to continue to spread goodness, strengthen Islamic brotherhood, and contribute to building a more dignified city.
"With togetherness and sincerity in working, Malang City will be more advanced and provide welfare for all its people. Muhammadiyah will be a strong element that is inseparable from the Malang City Government," concluded Wahyu. (say/yn)
