Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – 124 underprivileged residents in the Ciptomulyo Village area, Sukun District received assistance from the Wargo Mulyo Community Empowerment Agency (BKM) Ciptomulyo Village, Thursday (26/3/2025). The joy was clearly visible on the faces of the beneficiaries, most of whom were elderly.

Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat also looked happy when symbolically handing over aid to representatives of the beneficiaries. "I really appreciate it. This is a form of attention from BKM Wargo Mulyo to those in need. This is also in line with the government's program to provide attention, especially in the month of Ramadan, a month full of blessings," said the Mayor of Malang.
According to Wahyu, BKM Wargo Mulyo is worthy of being a role model, because it is a healthy BKM and has been able to continue to exist and be empowered for 25 years. "Even yesterday there was a comparative study from the province (East Java) here. Of course this is something to be proud of," he said happily.
Wahyu is also committed, through the sub-districts and villages and related regional apparatuses to continue to support and assist BKM in Malang City. "There will be assistance so that the journey of BKM can remain controlled and managed, and this is always audited. In addition to BKM in Ciptomulyo, there are several other healthy BKM such as Sukun, Gadingkasri, Tunjungsekar, and others," he continued.
On the same occasion, Sukun Sub-district Head IK Widi E. Wirawan said that BKM Wargo Mulyo is an organization that is very active in fostering and developing its business units. Widi assessed that this BKM is already quite independent with quite large profits and assets.
“This becomes pilot project and a role model for BKM in Sukun District. This kind of social activity is very good, and has become an annual agenda for Ciptomulyo residents," concluded Widi.
In this alms handover activity, the beneficiaries received packages containing rice, cooking oil, and granulated sugar. An expression of gratitude and thanks was also conveyed by one of the residents when met after the activity. "Alhamdulillah. Happy to buy basic necessities, what else is there to show off (Javanese meaning: happy to get basic necessities, especially approaching Eid)," he said. (ari/yn)
