Malang Mayor: Retirement is the Beginning of a New Chapter

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – 250 Civil Servants (PNS) within the Malang City Government who will enter retirement starting from (TMT) May 1 to December 2025 participated in the Briefing and Submission of Retirement Decrees activity organized by the Malang City Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM) at the Aria Gajayana Hotel, Tuesday (16/4/2025).

Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat, who was present accompanied by Malang Deputy Mayor Ali Muthohirin and the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City symbolically handed over the Pension Decree to representatives of civil servants. In addition to the handover of the Decree, old-age savings and pension benefits from PT Taspen were also handed over, as well as 111 basic food packages as part of the commemoration of the 111th Anniversary of Malang City.

Wahyu Hidayat in his speech expressed his gratitude, appreciation, and appreciation for the dedication and devotion of the ASN so far. "I express my sincere gratitude for the dedication and hard work you all while serving in the Malang City Government environment. We really appreciate every dedication that has been given," said Wahyu.

Wahyu reminded that retirement is not the end of everything, but rather a new phase that can still be filled with various useful and productive activities. "Retirement is not the end of devotion, but the beginning of a new chapter. Take advantage of retirement to continue working, sharing experiences, and continuing to have a positive impact on the surrounding environment," he advised.

Furthermore, Wahyu also advised civil servants to prepare themselves as best as possible to face this transition period, not only materially but also mentally and spiritually. "It is important for all of us to prepare ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Retirement must be lived with enthusiasm, peace, and gratitude," he said.

Of the 250 civil servants who will enter retirement, four are high-ranking pratama officials (echelon II), five administrator officials (echelon III), 29 supervisory officials (echelon IV), 103 functional teacher and non-teacher officials, and 109 implementers or staff.

Regarding the large number of officials who will retire, the Malang City Government also ensures steps by conducting job mapping and assessment so that there are no vacant positions, especially in strategic positions. "We will immediately carry out assessments and mapping of needs so that the wheels of the organization continue to run well and public services are not disrupted," he explained.

With these steps, the Malang City Government hopes that the regeneration and filling of positions can run smoothly, while providing space for new talents to appear and contribute. (yul/yn)
