Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ali Muthohirin, attended the gathering of the extended family of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Malang City which was held at the PMI Headquarters of Malang City, Jl. Buring No. 19, Thursday (17/4/2025).
In his speech, Ali appreciated the performance and contribution of the Malang City PMI, which he considered extraordinary, not only for the residents of Malang City, but also had an impact on other areas.
"Blood distribution by PMI Malang City is very beneficial, even to outside the city. The availability of blood in Malang City is also very adequate. We from the Malang City Government really appreciate and are grateful for PMI's hard work in maintaining the spirit of humanity," said Ali.
Ali added that PMI's role is very important in maintaining public health, especially in terms of providing blood which is considered part of the main teachings in Islam. "Maintaining the availability of blood is a form of maintaining human life, in accordance with the values of religious teachings," he added.
According to him, the spirit of togetherness in this activity is not only because of being in one humanitarian forum, but also because of the concern and sense of helping each other.
"For us at the Malang City Government, facilitating the availability of blood is part of our obligation to ease humanitarian tasks," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of PMI Malang City, Imam Buchori, said that this activity was an agenda for the 2025 PMI extended family gathering with the theme 'Spread Forgiveness in Gatherings, Strengthen Brotherhood and Family'.
"Thank you for the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Malang and all invited guests. On behalf of myself and the PMI of Malang City, we wish you a Happy Eid al-Fitr, please forgive me physically and mentally," said Imam. (cah/yn)
