Malang (malangkota.go.id) – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 8 Surabaya has made a new breakthrough by presenting the latest innovation in the form of features Female Seat Map on intercity ticket booking services.
This step is one of the efforts to improve comfort and safety for customers. The feature in this innovation allows female customers to choose seats next to other women when traveling.
Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Luqman Arif, Monday (28/4/2025), revealed the features Female Seat Map This is part of KAI's commitment to creating a safer, more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for all customers, especially women.
This feature has been accessible since March 21, 2025 through the KAI Access application. To enjoy this service, customers are required to update the application to the latest version. This feature is available exclusively to all female Access by KAI members when ordering tickets.
In the application, seats that have been filled by female passengers will be marked in pink (pink), making it easier for potential customers to choose seats next to other women.
Luqman further said that the criteria for prospective passengers who can use this feature are prospective female passengers who make ticket reservations for departure alone, prospective female passengers who make reservations with infants (children under 3 years old), and prospective female passengers who make reservations for more than one person, with all prospective passengers being female.
"When making a reservation, the system will automatically recommend a seat next to another female passenger. As long as the seat is still available," he added.
Not only through the application, this service is also available at the counter go show at the station. For female customers who purchase tickets directly, they can ask the counter staff to be given a seat next to another woman.
