Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat together with the Forkopimda ranks and related agencies participated online in the agenda of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, namely the Simultaneous Rice Planting in 14 provinces from the hall of the Perumda Tugu Aneka Usaha (Tunas) office on Jl. Kol. Sugiono, Gadang Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Wednesday (23/4/2025).
As instructed by President Prabowo, Malang City will support and implement the food self-sufficiency program, especially rice planting as the foundation of food security. "Although Malang City has minimal agricultural land and is not an agricultural area, we will fully support it," said Mayor Wahyu.
In agricultural production, according to the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, we must use current technology so that the results are also optimal, such as for the fertilization and pest control processes using unmanned aircraft or drone.
"Previously, farmers could work on one hectare of rice fields in 25 days. But now it's the opposite, that is, one day can work on 25 hectares. On the other hand, the existence of millennial farmers or young generation farmers will be maximized even more," explained Wahyu.
Before joining this virtual zoom, the Mayor of Malang and his staff also planted rice in the Sukun District area. This step is also a form of support for food self-sufficiency and the green industrial area launch program.
"This program of the President of the Republic of Indonesia is very good and we must support it, so that later the food needs will be met properly. Including to realize the ideals and the launch as one of the countries with the strongest food security in the world, as conveyed by the President," concluded Wahyu. (say/yn)
