Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The end of the series of stages of securing the Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) in the Malang City area in 2024 was officially closed with a consolidation roll call held in the yard of the Malang City Hall, Friday (25/4/2025). The roll call initiated by the Malang City Police was led directly by the Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat.
In his remarks, the Mayor of Malang said that this assembly was a moment of reflection on the success of securing the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections. He also appreciated all parties involved in keeping the situation safe and conducive. "Alhamdulillah, Malang City remains safe and conducive. There were no significant disturbances during the implementation of the Regional Elections," said Wahyu.
Wahyu also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have worked together to maintain order and support the democratic process. "I would like to express my gratitude to all parties, both from the ranks of the TNI, Polri, the community, and the organizers for their dedication and hard work," he said.
Wahyu emphasized that the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections are the biggest democratic moment in Indonesian history, because they are held simultaneously with the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections, DPR, DPD, DPRD, and regional heads throughout Indonesia.
According to him, this success was not easy, because it involved a very large number of voters and required cross-sector coordination. However, everything could run smoothly thanks to good synergy between elements. "This success is proof of maturity in democracy. Differences in choice do not divide us, but rather strengthen unity," he said.
He stressed that true democracy is not just about who wins and who loses, but about an honest, fair, and transparent process in choosing a trustworthy leader. Wahyu also reminded the importance of maintaining regional stability after the regional elections.
According to him, security is not just a routine, but a form of responsibility in maintaining people's sovereignty. "Let us continue to strengthen cross-sector synergy so that democratic values grow in a peaceful and civilized atmosphere," he said.
At the end of his speech, the Mayor of Malang expressed the hope that the success of the Pilkada in Malang City could be an inspiration to maintain conduciveness, strengthen solidarity, and support sustainable development. (cah/yn)
