Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat attended the Grand Opening of Ascent Premiere Hotel & Convention Malang, Friday (25/4/2025). The inauguration was symbolically marked by the cutting of the ribbon and the signing of the inscription by the Mayor of Malang in the lobby of the four-star hotel located on Jalan Kolonel Sugiono, Ciptomulyo Village, Sukun District.
Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat said that the presence of Ascent Premiere Hotel certainly adds to the enthusiasm of the tourism sector in Malang City. "This is also a signal of optimism that the presence of hotels in Malang City is very much needed. We also have a vision, mission, priority programs, and Dasa Bakti, one of which is how to attract people to come to Malang City," he explained.
The existence of hotels in Malang City will certainly also support the Malang City Government program under the leadership of Wahyu Hidayat which targets the holding of a thousand events every year. "The hope is that Malang City can become a tourist destination. The impact is that visitors will also look for places to stay and transportation facilities, so that these events also have multiplier effect,he continued.
This is also related to the hope of Malang City to become a pleasant place through Dasa Bakti Ngalam Asyik and Ngalam Nyaman. Malang City as a City of Education with more than 40 universities is also one of the potentials to increase the level of visits which will certainly also have an impact on the need for housing and lodging.
"So people who come to Malang City can enjoy this city well. Not only from the completeness of its infrastructure, but also utility access. We will improve these conveniences by overcoming traffic jams and flooding. So our hope is that people will not be discouraged from coming to Malang City, but will always want to come again and again," he explained.
Wahyu also appreciated the program from Ascent Group through Ascent Care which has provided educational scholarships for outstanding students. Of course, this program is in line with the ideals of the Mayor of Malang to realize Ngalam Pinter.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Ascent Hospitality Group Melissa Tania Tantiono explained that Ascent Premier has now added several facilities by increasing the number of rooms, fitness center, and new ballroom and lobby. Melissa also said that one of Ascent Group's visions is to become hospitality management the best and most sustainable local.
"Not only from the building side, but also how to build good human resources. Therefore, for something sustainable we have the Ascent Care program. We care about the quality and acceptance of education for schools that have been associated with the Ascent Group by providing scholarships," he explained.
This year, Ascent Group distributed 42 million rupiah to 21 outstanding children from several schools. "We want to be a channel of blessings, because we collect five thousand rupiah from each purchase of breaking fast packages by customers," he concluded. (ari/yn)
