Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang Ali Muthohirin opened the 3nd Branch Conference (Konfercab) of the Branch Leadership (PC) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Student Association (IPNU) and the Nahdlatul Ulama Female Student Association (IPPNU) of Malang City at the Oesman Mansoer Hall of the Islamic University of Malang (Unisma), Saturday (5/2025/XNUMX).
In his remarks, Deputy Mayor Ali Muthohirin expressed his appreciation for the holding of the regional conference which raised the theme 'Synergizing to Realize Organizational Excellence'.
According to him, this forum is part of the character formation process of the young generation of future leaders to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045.
"Today we are in the era of demographic bonus, where the productive age is very dominant. If not prepared seriously, this could be a demographic disaster. Therefore, students such as IPNU and IPPNU cadres have a vital role in shaping the character of the nation," he said.
Deputy Mayor Ali also appreciated the opening of this conference which coincided with the launch of four books by PC IPNU-IPPNU cadres and also alumni of the Main Cadre Training (Lakut) which became a symbol of strengthening literacy.
"The writing movement is a symbol of intellectuals. In the midst of the rapid flow of digitalization and declining interest in reading, the tradition of literacy needs to be continuously maintained and strengthened. This is proof that NU students are not only moving organizationally, but also intellectually," he concluded. (cah/yn)
