Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) held the Malang Fiesta Mbois at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building in Malang City, Saturday (10/5/2025). This is an effort to encourage and cultivate a healthy lifestyle in the community.
Malang Fiesta Mbois, which was attended by the Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat, accompanied by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, was a series of activities, starting from the Tahes Mbois Gymnastics, followed by the inauguration of the Mbois Gym by the Mayor of Malang, a health seminar open to the public, and a health product exhibition.
This activity is part of the implementation of the Malang City mission which is manifested in one of the Dasa Bakti Unggulan of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Malang, namely Ngalam Tahes, which prioritizes improving the quality of life and sustainable health services in Malang City.
The Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat, said that this activity not only aims to improve the physical fitness of the community, but also strengthen social solidarity and encourage a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
"Through this activity, we want to instill awareness that health is the main foundation in building a quality life. With a healthy society, development will run more optimally and economic growth will be more inclusive," said Wahyu.
The Malang Fiesta Mbois series which began with group exercise, continued with the inauguration of gym facilities at MCC, and then this health seminar reflects the determination and commitment of the Malang City Government to create a healthy, active, and productive society.
"Mbois Gym, this may be the only local government that strives to have a cheap and affordable fitness place for the community. And this is a collaboration of several regional devices, so that the community can enjoy and utilize fitness facilities managed by professionals," he explained.
Wahyu further emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration, namely government, business world, communities, and individuals to jointly realize the 'Mbois and Classy' City of Malang.
"In the spirit of togetherness, this activity is proof that Malang City has great potential to continue to grow into a healthy, inclusive, and modern city. Hopefully this is one of our efforts to make the community healthy and become a Ngalam that tahes (in Malangan, meaning healthy)," he added.
The Malang Fiesta Mbois series also received an enthusiastic response from the community, and is expected to be the initial momentum to form a more consistent healthy lifestyle for the citizens of Malang City. (yul/yn)
