Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The hue of hundreds of bicycle activists road bikes from 30 districts/cities throughout Indonesia, they looked very enthusiastic when taking part in the activity Rolling Together for Malang 111 which was held by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) in collaboration with Go Cycling and Racing (GCR) and Mainsepeda.com, Sunday (11/5/2025).
The Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Ali Muthohirin and the Commander of the 0833 Malang City Military District, Lieutenant Colonel Arm. Aris Gunawan sent off the participants from the front yard of the Malang City Hall.
Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat expressed his appreciation for the high enthusiasm of the participants who participated in this activity, especially cyclists from outside the city. "This is also part of Sports Tourism which continues to be echoed. The participants were also extraordinary, and this also provides proof that an event like this can provide... multiply effect which can be felt the positive impact, both by the community, then the occupancy rate of hotels, restaurants, souvenir centers, and so on. Moreover, this long weekends," he explained.
Wahyu further revealed that apart from supporting the campaign Sports Tourism in Malang City, this event is also expected to provide motivation for the community to further promote a healthy lifestyle by exercising. "In addition to being part of sports tourism, This is also in line with my mission with the Deputy Mayor which is realized in one of the Dasa Bakti, namely Ngalam Tahes, with the hope that in the future the level of public health will increase," he said.
In the same vein, the chairman of the organizing committee and also the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, said that the organization of various sporting events by the Malang City Government is expected to be able to form... mindset society to adopt a healthy lifestyle, in accordance with the Ten Principles of Healthy Living.
"As we all know, one of the things we need to cultivate is the habit of living actively, which is the key to maintaining our physical and mental health. That's why we always maintain the cycling ecosystem and the habit of exercising actively and positively like this to continue to thrive," said Erik.
Rolling Together for Malang 111 this time taking a 48 kilometer route that crosses a number of iconic points of Malang City, starting from Malang City Hall - Kayutangan - JA Suprapto - Sabilillah Mosque - Soekarno Hatta - Dinoyo - Dau - Tlekung - Jalibar - Crematorium - Pendem - back to Dinoyo - Mayjend Pandjaitan - Oro-oro Dowo - Kayutangan - and ending at the Mini Block Office of Malang City Hall.
