Supporting MSMEs to Move Up a Class, BPR Tugu Artha Hands Over 111 Savings for MSMEs

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Commemorating the 111th Anniversary of Malang City, PT. BPR Tugu Artha Sejahtera distributed 111 savings to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Malang City, Wednesday (14/5/2025). This activity is part of the commitment to support the Dasa Bakti program of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Malang, especially Ngalam Laris which focuses on strengthening the local MSME sector.

In addition to the handover of savings, the activity was also accompanied by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU/Memorandum of Understanding) between PT. BPR Tugu Artha Sejahtera and five Elementary Schools (SD) in Malang City. This collaboration aims to encourage increased financial literacy and education among teachers and students from an early age.

Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat, in his speech expressed his appreciation to the BUMD under the auspices of the Malang City Government. Wahyu said this step is real evidence of the strategic role of BUMD not only in the business aspect, but also in social and regional development as a whole.

"I highly appreciate PT. BPR Tugu Artha Sejahtera for its dedication in supporting local economic empowerment. This is a concrete example of how BUMD is not only profit-oriented, but also provides social and economic added value," said Wahyu.

According to him, the provision of savings is an initial step in expanding MSME access to safe and empowering financial services. He emphasized the importance of awareness of financial literacy, fund management, and readiness for a larger business scale.

Furthermore, the Mayor of Malang also highlighted the importance of the role of teachers in forming a culture of financial literacy in schools. The signing of the MoU with five elementary schools this time is expected to be an entry point for building financial understanding from an early age for students.

"Teachers are not only educators, but also agents of change. If teachers understand financial literacy, they can transmit these values ​​sustainably to students," he added.

On that occasion, PT. BPR Tugu Artha Sejahtera also presented the BUMD Award 2025 which was obtained as a form of recognition for its contribution to regional economic development. This award was warmly welcomed by the board of directors and became a motivation to continue to innovate. (yul/yn)
