Increasingly Resilient in Facing Disasters, Malang City BPBD Holds JITUPASNA Training

Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) held a JITUPASNA (Post-Disaster Needs Assessment) training at the Ascent Premiere Hotel and Convention Malang City, Wednesday (14/5/2025). This activity was attended by representatives of regional apparatus, sub-districts, villages, and the PKK Team.

Head of BPBD Malang City, Prayitno, said that the implementation of this training is a manifestation of the Malang City Government's (Pemkot) commitment to strengthening a planned and data-based disaster management system.

Although statistically, disasters in Malang City are not as big as the surrounding areas such as Malang Regency, Malang City still has a risk of disaster. Therefore, JITUPASNA knowledge and training are important to ensure that rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in affected areas are carried out effectively, efficiently, and on target.

This JITUPASNA training is expected to equip participants with technical skills in conducting post-disaster needs assessments quickly and accurately. "With this JITUPASNA training, it is hoped that sub-districts and villages will be able to identify post-disaster needs. So that if a disaster occurs, we don't know the science, what the losses and damages are, and how to recover, so that output "When there is a post-disaster needs study, it becomes easier," said Kalaksa.

Furthermore, strengthening collaboration and coordination between related parties must also be done. "Because only through strong synergy, disaster management efforts in Malang City, especially in the rehabilitation and reconstruction stages, can be carried out well, sustainably, and ultimately lead to increased community welfare," he concluded.
