Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat said that this comparative study was followed up by the signing of a joint agreement regarding the use of smart tax.

"This cooperation will be the first step before being developed into other sectors. For the first stage, we focus on optimizing local revenue (PAD). We have signed the MoU with the Regent of West Lombok, and the cooperation agreement was signed by the Head of Bapenda of each region," explained Wahyu.

He added that the e-Tax system in Malang City has proven to be able to increase the effectiveness of regional tax collection, as well as minimize the potential for revenue leakage. "The impact is very significant. Several sectors that previously had difficulty achieving targets can now be met. This is what West Lombok wants to emulate," he said.

On the same occasion, the Regent of West Lombok, Lalu Ahmad Zaini, admitted that he was interested in the implementation of e-Tax in Malang City, because this system is directly integrated with the cash register, so that transaction data is recorded automatically. real-time and transparent.

"This is very suitable to be implemented in West Lombok, especially since we are a tourist area with many hotels and restaurants. Unfortunately, our PAD is still not optimal. Therefore, we came to Malang City to learn and emulate its success," said Zaini.

Zaini said that currently the PAD of West Lombok Regency is around Rp500 billion per year, and it is targeted that there will be an increase in PAD to Rp750 billion per year. "We thank the Malang City Government for accepting us and sharing experiences," he concluded. (cah/yn)
