Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat attended a grand tabligh at the Baitul Jannah Mosque in Malang City which featured preacher Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS), Sunday (18/5/2025). On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang symbolically handed over assistance in the form of an ambulance for the operation of the Baitul Jannah Mosque.
Wahyu Hidayat expressed his gratitude for the presence of Ustaz Abdul Somad in Malang City. "Thank God, Ustaz Abdul Somad is present in Malang City, whose presence is eagerly awaited by the community. Thank you for his presence, which of course provides a lot of inspiration and enlightenment for us to lead Malang City to be even better," he added.
Ustaz Abdul Somad also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be present in Malang City, which he said has a very good relationship between ulama and umara. "The harmony of the relationship between ulama and umara will make Malang City a city full of blessings," said Abdul Somad.
UAS also emphasized the importance of togetherness in building a city. "Today we can gather together, both clerics, mayors, TNI/Polri, and the community. This is an extraordinary capital to build Malang City together," he continued.
On this occasion, Ustaz Abdul Somad invited the entire congregation to always be grateful for all the gifts given by Allah SWT. "Be grateful for every opportunity to pray and gather together. This is an extraordinary gift from Allah SWT, which not everyone can get," he said again.
In addition, Ustaz Abdul Somad on this occasion also delivered a message about leadership. He explained that a leader must have a character like a lion and a bee. The lion, known as the king of the jungle, has an important philosophy for a leader. "The lion only takes the best part of the meat from its prey, and leaves the rest to be eaten by other animals. This shows that a leader must be able to share and not be greedy," explained Ustaz Abdul Somad.
He also discussed the character of bees that always work in a structured manner. "Bees eat the best flower nectar and no matter how far they search for food, they will always return to their nest. Bees also work in a clearly structured organization, there is a queen bee and other workers," he said.
At the end of his lecture, Ustaz Abdul Somad reminded all parties who attended his lecture, including leaders, not to be offended by his style of speaking which was always frank and open. (cah/yn)
