Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The end of the Malang Raya Vaganza Sale was officially marked by the peak event, namely the prize draw at Cyber Mall Malang, Sunday (18/5/2025). Various prizes ranging from shopping vouchers, refrigerators, televisions, smartphones, to electric bicycles were distributed to buyers who entered the lottery coupons.

From the biggest shopping event initiated by the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) DPC Malang, 3.500 coupons have been distributed from a total transaction of IDR 350 million during April 11 to May 18, 2025. There are seven malls in Malang City and two malls in Batu City that participated in the event which was also held to enliven the 111th Anniversary of Malang City.
The Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat, who was also present and drew prizes on this occasion, said that this event was proof of the collaboration of the Malang City Government with the business world to jointly drive the economy. Wahyu greatly appreciated this event because it could drive the community's economy, especially coinciding with the Anniversary of Malang City.
Wahyu said that this event is also in line with various programs from the Malang City Government, namely the implementation of 1.000 events. In addition, this event also supports the Dasa Bakti Unggulan. "This event can also spur Ngalam Asyik and Ngalam Laris as our Dasa Bakti to be realized. How Malang City can have a tourism business ecosystem, one of which is shopping tourism. It can also develop UMKM products," he continued.
Wahyu also encouraged modern shopping centers such as malls in Malang City to become marketing platforms for local MSME products. "We support various APPBI activities whose goals are in line with our programs to improve the community's economy. That's all so that MSMEs in Malang City can move up a class," he concluded.
Met on the same occasion, the Head of APPBI DPC Malang, Suwanto appreciated the Malang City Government which has also thought of various strategies to drive the community's economy. Suwanto admitted that people's purchasing power tends to decrease compared to the previous year. However, with various efforts, one of which is the Malang Raya Vaganza Sale, it is hoped that it will be a lever to increase people's purchasing power.
"Although the economy seems to be declining, we agree and of course thanks to the support of the mayor, we are still holding this event. This proves that our commitment to moving the economy will continue to be done," he concluded. (ari/yn)
