Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat emphasized the commitment of the Malang City Government (Pemkot) in supporting and preserving traditional arts and culture. "Bantengan is not just a performing art, but a symbol of local wisdom that is fascinating and encourages the creative economy," he said.

Wahyu said that the bantengan art had even been performed at the 2025th National Conference (Munas) of the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI) XNUMX in Surabaya some time ago. "This is proof that bantengan is worthy of being our shared pride," Wahyu added.

The number one person in the Malang City Government also emphasized the positive impact of the bantengan art performance on increasing local MSME turnover. "Every event like this is certainly an opportunity for business actors to market their products," he explained.

Regarding the peace declaration of the bantengan association, according to Wahyu, this is a strategic step to break the negative stigma of the bantengan art performance. "We want the public to see bantengan as an art that presents attractions that can be seen safely, comfortably, entertainingly and interestingly," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the event organizers, Kuncoro Adi, stated that this event was a manifestation of the unity of Madyopuro residents. "We hope that the support of the Malang City Government will continue so that the bantengan artists will be increasingly recognized," he said.
