Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Wahyu Hidayat, saw off the departure of the Malang City Hajj Pilgrims Group 76 at the Ki Angmor Dam V/Brawijaya Field, Malang, Friday (23/5/2025).

The number of prospective pilgrims in Malang City this year is 1.193 people, consisting of 564 male pilgrims and 629 female pilgrims. Of this number, the oldest congregation is 94 years old, while the youngest congregation is 18 years old.
The Mayor of Malang said that the Hajj pilgrimage as the fifth pillar of Islam is a dream for every Muslim to be able to perform it in the Holy Land. He said that the Hajj pilgrimage is not only an obligation, but also a great gift given by Allah SWT to His chosen servants.
"This is real evidence that this holy calling can come to anyone, regardless of age. For that, I, on behalf of myself and the Malang City Government, with joy and happiness congratulate the departure of the Malang City hajj pilgrims in 2025 AD/1446 Hijriah to the Holy Land of Mecca," he added.
The number one person in the Malang City Government also invited the pilgrims as ambassadors of the nation and regional ambassadors to always maintain the good name of the Indonesian nation. "Show noble morals, maintain togetherness, and respect the traditions of Muslims from various countries who also perform worship. I also advise, maintain physical condition and health as best as possible," he said.
He added that the pilgrimage journey requires physical and spiritual strength. For elderly prospective pilgrims, it is hoped that companions and fellow pilgrims will help each other, look after each other, and strengthen each other. "Mental readiness, knowledge, and material are also important to support the smooth running of worship," he explained again.
But above all, Wahyu emphasized that the most important thing is sincerity, sincerity, patience, and an attitude of trust in Allah SWT. "Not to forget to the hajj officers, both health workers, worship guides, and other service officers, I remind you to carry out your duties seriously, responsibly, and with the intention of worship," he said.
"Remember, your departure is not merely to perform your personal Hajj, but rather to carry out your mandate of service to the Hajj pilgrims. Hopefully you will also be given the opportunity and blessings in carrying out your worship," concluded Wahyu. (say/yn)
