Kedungkandan (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor, Wahyu Hidayat attended the Special Village Deliberation (Muskelsus) for the Establishment of the Merah Putih Cooperative in Madyopuro Village, Sunday (25/5/2025). This Muskelsus is part of an effort to accelerate the establishment of the Merah Putih Village/Village Cooperative in Malang City.
"This is part of the stages of forming the Red and White Cooperative. Yesterday I also went to Klojen Village to see the process, and see directly the stages whether they have been carried out properly," explained Wahyu.
According to him, this deliberation is an important stage in the formation of cooperatives in 57 sub-districts in Malang City. "This deliberation was led directly by the village head as ex officio according to the provisions related to the Red and White Cooperative. In the deliberation, they determine the management starting from the supervisor, chairman, secretary, treasurer, to the fields and members of the cooperative," explained Wahyu.
This effort is a real form of commitment from the Malang City Government in strengthening the community-based economy and local potential. The city government also formed a special task force and prepared training and certification for cooperative administrators, so that cooperatives grow professionally and sustainably.
The Mayor of Malang on this occasion also revealed that each sub-district determines the cooperative business unit that is in accordance with the local potential and wisdom. "It does not have to be the same as other sub-districts, but adjusted to the existing local potential," he added.
To date, 35 sub-districts have held special sub-district meetings, and a total of 57 sub-districts in Malang City are targeted to be completed by May 27 to be reported to the center. In the Kedungkandang District area, five sub-districts have formed the Red and White Cooperative, namely Tlogowaru, Cemorokandang, Wonokoyo, Kotalama, and Madyopuro Sub-districts.
The Special Muskel for the Establishment of the Red and White Cooperative was also attended by the Regional Secretary of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, and the ranks of regional apparatus within the Malang City Government. (yul/yn)
