Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The development of artificial intelligence technology or Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now moving very rapidly, and has become one of the most revolutionary phenomena. AI has also penetrated almost all aspects of life from business, education, to people's lifestyles.

This was conveyed by the Secretary of the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo), Sony Bachtiar, when opening the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Based Services entitled 'Productive and Wise with AI' which was held at the Savana Hotel, Thursday (19/6/2025).
Sony asserted that in the past decade, AI has transformed from a limited tool to a driving force for global digital transformation. "According to a 2024 McKinsey report, the global AI market is predicted to reach more than US$370 billion by 2025. The main sectors that benefit from it include banking, healthcare, manufacturing, education, and public services," he said.
However, the rapid development of this technology is not yet comparable to the readiness of some people to face it. Many workers do not understand how AI works, do not have adequate digital competence, and even worry about being replaced by machines.
It is feared that this will widen the gap in knowledge and economic inequality if it is not accompanied by an inclusive and targeted adaptation process. "Therefore, the community needs to be equipped with understanding and skills to wisely utilize this AI technology positively and productively," he said.
Sony further said that this ICT Technical Guidance was held to strengthen the digital capacity and culture of the people of Malang City in the midst of the digital transformation era.
"The hope is that the people of Malang City are able to keep up with the pace of development, utilize technology intelligently, and take part in inclusive and sustainable digital development. Also to support the vision of Malang City towards Malang Mbois and Berkelas," continued Sony.
Present as speakers in this activity were digital practitioner M. Ziaelfikar Albaba and content creator Muhammad Choirul Anam or often known as Bhaot Sudanco. This technical guidance was attended by residents from various regions in Malang City based on the results of the Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) proposal. (dif/yn)
